You give them the loving home they deserve, and we'll provide you with all the help and resources you need for your new family member.
All pets adopted from SSHS go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.
Prior to adoption, all SSHS pets are:
Spayed or neutered
FIV/FeLV tested (cats)
Heartworm tested (dogs)
How to Adopt
We want to make the process of adopting a new pet as stress-free as possible.
Feel free to come in to the shelter during adoptions hours just to look around. If you see a dog or cat you may want to take home, let one of our adoptions counselors know and we'll have you fill out a brief application and talk over the adoption process and details of the pet. Most pets go home the same day!
>> Please make sure to bring a valid photo I.D.
>> Although not required, family members and pets are encouraged to visit the shelter to meet a potential new pet
>> All adopted dogs must leave the shelter with a collar, leash, and tag available for purchase here at the shelter
>> Cardboard carriers for getting your new cat back home are available for $5
>> Heartworm and flea/tick preventative is available for purchase at the shelter
